SwiftBroadband is an IP-based packet-switched service offering "always-on" data at up to 432kbps per channel, simultaneously with a high-quality voice channel and a generic SMS service. This flexible and modular solution supports various data configurations from Standard IP mode, in which the service is shared with other concurrent users, providing a ‘best effort’ service, to pre-determined streaming classes of 32, 64 or 128kbps, ensuring quality of service. Higher bandwidth can be achieved by combining channels.

SwiftBroadband covers all crew and passenger communication need through a single installation on the aircraft, supporting applications such as: crew safety services, voice communications, Electronic Flight Bag (EFB - flight plan, weather and chart updates) and other flight critical planning, monitoring and reporting applications, as well as passengers telephony, text messaging, emailing, and any other form of internet use.
